Greek. Hellenistic Period. Ptolemaic Egypt. Ptolemy IV Philopator (r. 221-204 BC) AR (Silver) tetradrachm. Uncertain mint 42; struck 216-214 BC. AU; an issue of incredible beauty, struck in the finest Ptolemaic style. Warm golden toning accentuates the high-relief portrait. Rare; only two examples in sales archives in the last five years.

Design: Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, wearing aegis / Ptolemaic eagle perched left on thunderbolt; no control marks
